Chat

Ask the room's model questions, queue them, stop or continue an answer, and control who sees the chat.

Once the model is running, anyone in the room can ask it something.

Type in Message the room and press Send. The answer streams in word by word, on every screen that can see the chat.

  • Several people asking at once: questions wait in one queue and run in order. While an answer runs, the button reads Queue, and a note says how many are ahead of yours.
  • Stop: the person who asked can press Stop (the Send button, with the box empty).
  • Continue: if an answer hits the length limit, press Continue to keep going.
  • Regenerate: ask the last question again.
  • New chat: the host can make the room forget the conversation.

The ring next to the box shows how much of the model’s context the chat uses. When it’s full, the answer stops with context full. Start a new chat, or see Pick a model for more context.

By default everyone in the room sees every question and answer. The device that opened the room can change this in Room settings → Who sees the chat:

Option Who sees it
Everyone (default) Every device in the room.
Only me Only the host.
Whoever asked The host and the device that asked.

This only decides which screens show the text. The devices that run the model still work on every answer. See Privacy.

The room’s creator sets answer length, thinking, style and wording in Room settings.

Anyone can press Room settings → Save the chat to download the conversation as a Markdown file.

  • Code mode: ask for an app instead of an answer.
  • Serve API: send questions from your own tools.
  • Terminal: chat from the command line.
